The multifamily industry marked a significant milestone last week as Alan King was installed as the 2025 Chair of the National Apartment Association during the Assembly of Delegates meetings held in Atlanta. With a career spanning more than three decades, Alan’s leadership journey is a testament to his dedication to improving the rental housing industry. His influence extends from Texas to Georgia and beyond, leaving a legacy of collaboration, professionalism, and progress.
Alan is Partner/Managing Director of Berkshire Communities, overseeing operations for more than 700 property management professionals across 20+ markets nationwide. Prior to Berkshire, Alan held leadership roles at Archon, McNeil Real Estate, and Johnstown Properties.
His expertise in property management, asset repositioning, and strategic leadership has been a cornerstone of his success, making him one of the most respected figures in the industry.
Leadership in Texas: AAGD President and Beyond
Alan’s career is deeply rooted in Texas, where he served as President of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD). His tenure was marked by forward-thinking leadership, a commitment to advocacy, and a deep understanding of industry challenges. His contributions to NAA include serving as Secretary and Treasurer, roles that underscored his ability to drive change on a national scale.
