Twenty Ways To Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day is Thursday, April 22. It’s the day we recognize and appreciate our planet for all it does to sustain our lives. It’s also a day to remember that it’s up to every one of us to conserve and protect the Earth.  Here are twenty ways to celebrate this planet we all call home. 1. Shorten your shower by a minute or two.
2. Wash the laundry in cold water.
3. Use environmentally-safe cleaning products.
4. Run the dishwasher only when full.
5. Pick up trash in your neighborhood and recycle what you can.
6. Commit to using fewer disposable items.
7. Start a vegetable garden.
8. Plant trees in your community.
9. Inspect your irrigation system, fix leaks, and set controller to reduce waste.
10. Use natural products for pest and weed control.
11. Check your home for plumbing leaks.
12. Join a neighborhood “no buy” group to rehome items to people who need them and save them from the landfill.
13. Visit a park, botanical garden, or another place in nature.
14. Choose a car wash that recycles water.
15. If building, consider more eco-friendly options than concrete for pathways.
