There’s something about the Texas Apartment Association ONE Conference that just feels like home. Maybe it’s because Texas is where my multifamily career began—or maybe it’s because TAA has always been more than just a conference to me. It’s where connections turn into friendships, ideas spark into action, and passion for this industry is on full display.

I still remember my first TAA Conference, held in Houston. I was new to the industry, wearing an ill-fitting blazer, carrying way too many business cards, and trying not to trip over my words—or people. I remember standing in the middle of the expo floor, realizing just how big this industry was and how lucky I felt to be part of it. That moment lit a fire that’s only grown stronger over the years.

That’s why this week stands out on my calendar year after year—and this year, the energy feels even more exciting. The new schedule layout and fresh expo experiences are giving the event a whole new rhythm. There’s intentional creativity behind it, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it shapes conversations and connections throughout the week.

As someone who’s worn a few different hats in this industry, I have a deep appreciation for everything it takes to bring an event like this to life. The logistics. The planning. The creativity. The last-minute tweaks. It’s a labor of love from every corner—supplier and operator companies, association staff, and countless volunteers working behind the scenes to create something remarkable.

So here’s to TAA ONE—to celebrating where we’ve been, where we’re headed, and the incredible people who make this industry one worth showing up for.
